01 What makes it unique
The Jayco Eagle HT 26REC is a 29' 2" fifth wheel in the MY2026 Eagle HT roster. Jayco publishes a dry weight of 8,355 pounds against a 9,995-pound GVWR, and the two tie out exactly with the published 1,640-pound cargo carrying capacity — 8,355 + 1,640 = 9,995. That arithmetic is checked on every plan in this catalogue, and a plan whose own figures disagree is catalogued without a page rather than quietly reconciled.
The dry pin weight is 1,725 pounds, or 21% of the dry weight. Fifth-wheel pin loads land in the truck bed and count against payload, not against the receiver rating, so the number that matters is your truck’s remaining payload with passengers and gear aboard. Payload is 1,640 pounds, 16% of GVWR — that is the ceiling for water, propane, cargo and any dealer-fitted equipment combined. Fresh water alone at 52 gallons is about 432 pounds when full.
Tanks are 52 gallons fresh, 82 grey and 45 black, and the factory lists ST225/75R15'E' tires. Interior height is 8' 5" and the exterior measures 8' 1" wide by 12' 3" tall — check that height against your own garage, and remember an air-conditioner shroud adds to it. This page covers the MY2026 26REC only. Jayco’s figures move between model years — measured on one Eagle floorplan across five consecutive years, 20 of 28 published fields changed, including tire size and a 290-pound swing in dry pin weight — so nothing here is carried over from a neighbouring year, and no year is shown that Jayco has not published for this code.
How the 26REC differs from the other 51 Eagle fifth wheels. Most distinctive first. Sibling pages may cover other model years than this one (2024–2026). How these ranks are worked out.
- Cargo capacity, 1,640 lb: second-smallest of 52, between the 28BHU (1,455 lb) and the 24MLE and 28RKS (1,645 lb).
- Length, 29 ft 2 in: third-shortest of 44, between the 25.5REOK (28 ft 8 in) and the 24MLE (29 ft 3 in).
- Sleeping capacity, 2: smallest of 37, level with the 27MLC and 325MKTS; next are the 24MLE, 25RUC and sixteen others (4).
- Dry weight, 8,355 lb: ninth-lightest of 52, between the 28RKS (8,350 lb) and the 28BHU (8,540 lb).
- Dry pin weight as a share of dry weight, 20.6%: shared with the 335LSTS; of 52, 46 smaller and four larger, nearest the 27MLC (20.5%) and the 28CRT (20.7%).
- GVWR, 9,995 lb: shared with the 25.5REOK, 26.5RLDS and four others; of 52, three lower and 42 higher, nearest the 24.5KTS (9,950 lb) and the 27MLC (10,400 lb).
- Exterior height, 12 ft 3 in: shared with the 24MLE, 25RUC and seven others; of 35, six lower and nineteen taller, nearest the 30RLT, 31QCD and two others (12 ft 2 in) and the 27MLC, 27RL and four others (12 ft 4 in).
- Dry pin weight, 1,725 lb: 21st-lightest of 52, between the 27RS (1,700 lb) and the 27MLC (1,765 lb).
- Cargo capacity as a share of GVWR, 16.4%: shared with the 335RDOK; of 51, nineteen smaller and 30 larger, nearest the 30CRT, 317RLOK and three others (16.2%) and the 28RKS (16.5%).
- Interior height, 8 ft 5 in: shared with the 24MLE, 25RUC and ten others; of 46, eighteen lower and fifteen taller, nearest the 26RU and 27RS (8 ft 4 in) and the 29RLC and 30CRT (8 ft 6 in).
- Fresh tank, 52 gal: shared with the 24MLE, 25RUC and thirteen others; of 52, thirteen smaller and 23 larger, nearest the 28BHU, 28RKS and 31QBH (51 gal) and the 325BHQS, 327CKTS and 339FLQS (75 gal).
- Grey tank, 82 gal: shared with the 24MLE, 25RUC and eighteen others; of 52, fourteen smaller and seventeen larger, nearest the 27RL and 27RS (80 gal) and the 317RLOK, 319MLOK and thirteen others (87 gal).
- Black tank, 45 gal: shared with the 24MLE, 25RUC and eighteen others; of 52, fourteen smaller and seventeen larger, nearest the 27RL and 27RS (43 gal) and the 317RLOK, 319MLOK and nine others (50 gal).
Next to the 28RKS (2026 page), the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 26REC is 5 lb heavier by dry weight, has 5 lb less cargo capacity, has a dry pin weight 30 lb heavier, is 1 ft 7 in shorter, has 2 ft 2 in more interior height, has a fresh tank 1 gal larger and sleeps two fewer; the two publish the same GVWR, exterior height, grey tank and black tank.
Next to the 28BHU (2025–2027 page), the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 26REC is 185 lb lighter by dry weight, has 185 lb more cargo capacity, has a dry pin weight 125 lb heavier, stands 1 in lower, has a fresh tank 1 gal larger and sleeps six fewer; the two publish the same GVWR, interior height, grey tank and black tank.
Specifications by model year
This floorplan has a published factory record for 3 model years here, 2024 to 2026. The specification does not hold still: GVWR runs from 9,750 lb (2024) to 9,995 lb (2026); dry weight runs from 8,000 lb (2025) to 8,355 lb (2026); dry pin weight runs from 1,615 lb (2024) to 1,725 lb (2026). The published sleeping capacity changes across the years: up to 6 in 2024–2025, up to 2 in 2026. Each year’s complete record is printed separately below, carrying only that year’s own published figures and source. Nothing is copied across from a neighbouring year.
| Model year | Dry (UVW) | GVWR | Cargo (CCC) | Dry pin | Length | Sleeps | Tire size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 8,055 | 9,750 | 1,695 | 1,615 | 29' 5" | up to 6 | ST225/75R15'E' |
| 2025 | 8,000 | 9,750 | 1,750 | 1,640 | 29' 4" | up to 6 | ST225/75R15'E' |
| 2026 | 8,355 | 9,995 | 1,640 | 1,725 | 29' 2" | up to 2 | ST225/75R15'E' |
Every row is that model year’s own record from Jayco’s model page for that year. The figures in the tow-critical placard at the top of this page are the 2026 record from the source this catalogue originally profiled. On the weights, overall length and tire size, that record and Jayco’s own 2026 model page agree on every field both of them publish. Exterior height is not compared: Jayco publishes a bare height, a with-A/C height and a with-2nd-A/C height, and the single height row carried here cannot be matched to one of them, so no claim is made either way.

What changed for the 2024 model year
2024 is the earliest model year of the 26REC on this site, so there is no earlier record to set it against. Section 01 compares it with 2025.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (9,995 lb) and the upper loaded pin estimate (2,499 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 15–25% of GVWR on the pin, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433). The range starts at the published dry figure, because loaded is never lighter than dry.
03 The Eagle HT floorplan family
Jayco's Eagle is the brand's premium towable family, and it splits three ways. The full-size Eagle is the flagship fifth wheel — Stronghold VBL™ laminated walls, 5-Star Handling, the HELIX dual-15,000-BTU cooling system and a 16 cubic-foot residential refrigerator. Jayco offers the Eagle HT line as both a fifth wheel and a travel trailer — lighter, 4-Star Handling with Goodyear Endurance tires, and lower pin or tongue weights. The 26REC on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page. The full Eagle catalogue runs to dozens of floorplans across all three; the highest-demand layouts are detailed here and the rest are catalogued on the line hub.

Eagle HT is Jayco's lighter premium line, sold as both a fifth wheel and a travel trailer on the same residential build. It sits above Jay Feather and below the full-size Eagle. Pin and tongue weights are dry factory figures and climb with cargo — even a light fifth wheel needs its loaded pin checked against the truck's payload and rear-axle rating. Additional Eagle HT floorplans are catalogued on the line hub.
04 Notes on this floorplan
Figures are Jayco’s own, and they tie out
Dry 8,355 lb + cargo 1,640 lb = GVWR 9,995 lb exactly. Nothing on this page is computed from the other two, estimated from the segment, or taken from a dealer listing.
Dry means empty, and you will not tow it empty
8,355 lb is the unit as built, before water, propane, batteries, cargo or dealer-installed options. Weigh the loaded trailer on a public scale before matching it to a tow vehicle.
Pin weight comes out of truck payload
1,725 lb of dry pin sits in the bed and counts against the truck’s payload sticker along with passengers and gear. Loaded pin runs higher than dry pin.
What this page does not publish
Jayco’s factory spec table for this floorplan carries no slide count, no bed size, no refrigerator or air-conditioner spec and no MSRP. Those rows are absent here rather than filled from a sibling floorplan or a second source. Jayco’s published awning length is held in this catalogue’s saved copy of the factory page but not printed, because the catalogue tracks no awning field to print it into.
05 How it compares
Dry 8,120 lb against this plan’s 8,355 lb — 235 lb less to tow.
Dry 9,240 lb against this plan’s 8,355 lb — 885 lb more to tow.
Every Eagle, Eagle HT and Eagle SLE floorplan catalogued here, with the plans this site refuses to publish and the reason for each.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 52-gallon fresh tank is about 432 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 26% of the 26REC’s 1,640 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,208 lb (604 lb per rated berth). Across 52 Eagle fifth-wheel floorplans the water share runs 16% to 34%, and 22 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Eagle 24MLE at 26% and Eagle 327CKTS at 27%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).
