01 What makes it unique
The Jay Flight 260BHW is the 28th-lightest of the 56 MY2027 Jay Flight floorplans this site carries from Jayco’s own 2027 model pages, with 27 plans below it and 28 above. Its 4,905 lbs dry and 6,800 lbs GVWR leave 1,895 lbs of cargo capacity — 28% of the loaded rating, which is the figure that actually decides what you can put in it.
Fresh water is the load most owners forget to count. The 84 gallon fresh tank weighs about 697 lbs full, which is 37% of this plan's 1,895 lbs of cargo capacity before a single bag goes in. Grey and black hold 40 and 40 gallons. Travelling with full fresh and empty waste tanks is the arrangement that leaves the most room for everything else.
It runs two axles. Jayco's own factory page for this floorplan settles that; the aggregator spec block reports one axle for it, which the factory contradicts. Where the two disagree the factory governs, and the discrepancy is set out in section 02.
How the 260BHW differs from the other 122 Jay Flight floorplans. Most distinctive first. Sibling pages may cover other model years than this one (2024–2027). How these ranks are worked out.
- Cargo capacity as a share of GVWR, 27.9%: eighteenth-largest of 123, between the 130RDW (27.7%) and the 28BHBE (28.5%).

Specifications by model year
This floorplan has a published factory record for 4 model years here, 2024 to 2027. The specification does not hold still: GVWR runs from 6,500 lb (2025) to 6,800 lb (2027); dry weight runs from 4,600 lb (2025) to 4,905 lb (2027); dry tongue weight runs from 500 lb (2024) to 545 lb (2027). The published sleeping capacity changes across the years: up to 10 in 2024, up to 8 in 2025–2026, up to 10 in 2027. Each year’s complete record is printed separately below, carrying only that year’s own published figures and source. Nothing is copied across from a neighbouring year.
| Model year | Dry (UVW) | GVWR | Cargo (CCC) | Dry tongue | Length | Sleeps | Tire size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 4,685 | Disputed | 1,315 | 500 | 29' 6" | up to 10 | ST205/75R14'D' |
| 2025 | 4,600 | 6,500 | 1,900 | 505 | 29' 5" | up to 8 | ST205/75R14'D' |
| 2026 | 4,640 | 6,800 | 2,160 | 535 | 29' 5" | up to 8 | ST205/75R14'D' |
| 2027 | 4,905 | 6,800 | 1,895 | 545 | 29' 5" | up to 10 | ST205/75R14'D' |
Every row is that model year’s own record from Jayco’s model page for that year. Jayco’s own 2024 model page prints a GVWR of 6,500 lb for the 260BHW, but the unloaded weight (4,685 lb) and cargo capacity (1,315 lb) it prints beside it add to 6,000 lb, 500 lb less; the catalogue cannot tell which figure is wrong, so the 2024 row shows the GVWR as disputed rather than as a rating, and the 2024 record sets out every figure exactly as printed. Jayco titles its 2025 and 2026 model pages for this floorplan Jay Flight SLX 260BHW. The figures in the tow-critical placard at the top of this page are the 2027 record from the source this catalogue originally profiled. On the weights, overall length and tire size, that record and Jayco’s own 2027 model page agree on every field both of them publish. Exterior height is not compared: Jayco publishes a bare height, a with-A/C height and a with-2nd-A/C height, and the single height row carried here cannot be matched to one of them, so no claim is made either way.

What changed for the 2024 model year
2024 is the earliest model year of the 260BHW on this site, so there is no earlier record to set it against. Section 01 compares it with 2025.
GVWR for 2024: Jayco’s own figures do not agree
Jayco’s own 2024 model page prints, for the 2024 260BHW, an unloaded vehicle weight of 4,685 lb, a cargo carrying capacity of 1,315 lb and a GVWR of 6,500 lb. Unloaded weight plus cargo capacity comes to 6,000 lb, which is 500 lb less than that GVWR. Nothing on that page says which of the three is wrong, and this catalogue cannot tell. Under this site’s rule for published figures that do not reconcile, a gap of more than 100 lb means the GVWR is not given here as a usable rating: the GVWR rows for this model year read “Disputed” and no tow check is offered for it. All three figures above are reproduced exactly as Jayco printed them and none has been adjusted. The weight label and VIN placard on the trailer itself state its GVWR and govern, not the model page and not this page — read them, and weigh the loaded trailer, before towing it.
Source for 2024. Specifications reflect the 2024 model year as published by Jayco on its own 2024 model page for this floorplan, and are dry factory figures for a base unit. Options, dealer-installed equipment and cargo all add weight. A travel trailer puts its tongue load on the tow vehicle's hitch and through its rear axle, so the loaded tongue must be checked against the receiver's rating and the vehicle's payload, not against its tow rating. Published-figure conflict, stated not resolved: the GVWR Jayco printed for 2024 does not reconcile with its own dry weight and cargo capacity, by more than 100 lb, so it is not given here as a rating (the GVWR note in section 03 sets out all three printed figures); the trailer’s weight label and VIN placard govern. Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (6,800 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (1,020 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

Layout descriptions are decoded from Jayco's own floorplan-code suffixes (BH bunkhouse, MB Murphy bed, RLS rear living, QB queen bed, TBS two-bedroom slide, and so on). They describe the code, not a measured interior: this site publishes no interior dimensions for this line and therefore no floorplan diagrams.
04 Reading these numbers
Cargo capacity in context
GVWR minus dry weight is 1,895 lbs on this plan, 28% of the loaded rating. Across the 56 MY2027 Jay Flight floorplans this site carries, the same figure runs from 18% to 38%. Dry weight is a base-unit number: options, batteries and a full propane bottle all come out of the cargo figure, not the dry one.
Axle count — aggregator data corrected
Jayco's own factory page for the 260BHW lists it as a 2-axle unit, and its mandatory equipment package is the double-axle package. Factory data outranks aggregator data here, so this page publishes 2. The discrepancy is recorded rather than quietly dropped: anyone cross-checking against that aggregator will see one axle and should not trust it on this line.
Eastern and western builds differ
Jayco builds this floorplan at two plants and publishes separate figures for each. The 260BHW is 155 lbs heavier dry than the 260BH (4,905 vs 4,750), and the fresh tank differs too (84 gal vs 52 gal). Neither number is a typo for the other — check which build a given unit is.
What this page does not publish
Every figure on this page is from Jayco’s own 2027 model page for this floorplan, tongue weight, tire size and axle count included. Jayco publishes no room-by-room interior dimensions, which is why this page carries no floorplan diagram.
05 How it compares
4,840 lbs dry against this plan's 4,905, 24' 7" of length, sleeps 2, from $41,243. The nearest lighter floorplan in the MY2027 line.
4,965 lbs dry, 6,500 lbs GVWR, sleeps 2, from $32,993. The nearest heavier floorplan — 60 lbs more trailer than this one.
The same floorplan from Jayco's other plant: 4,750 lbs dry, 6,500 lbs GVWR, 52 gal fresh, from $29,406.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 84-gallon fresh tank is about 697 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 37% of the Jay Flight 260BHW’s 1,895 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,198 lb (120 lb per rated berth). Across 123 Jay Flight floorplans the water share runs 13% to 47%, and 11 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Jay Flight 250BHW at 37% and Jay Flight 212QB at 37%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).
